
Fran’s 1941 Apricot Magic
We named our apricot fruit spread after our mom, Frances. We watched Fran make it every December, and to this day her recipes and cooking techniques guide us in our kitchens. The 1941 part honors Fran and Al, the year our parents married. The apricot magic part means that this apricot spread has a variety of uses as a food complement. Fran & Al, 1942The History Behind the Magic
As a young girl, Fran, mom to Bonita and Andrea, learned to make Fran’s 1941 Apricot Magic with her mother, grandmother, and four older sisters on the family farm in Smith Creek, Michigan. When she married Al in 1941, Fran brought the family recipe with her to Southern California where it became a Christmas-time comfort food. Read more...
